Nashville Predators Social Media Roundup: O Captain!
Nashville Predators social media highlights for the week of September 5th with an additional look around the league.
Unless you live under a rock, you have heard the big news coming out of the Nashville Predators camp. The recent departure of Shea Weber left the team looking for someone to fill the leadership role and it looks like they found their guy.

There was a number of guys the Preds could have turned to. An up-and-coming offensive stud, a proven power forward, and a flashy new addition; however, the Preds turned to seasoned vet Mike Fisher to lead the Preds to the promise land. Fisher was a popular choice of the fans for the captain, and they should be happy.

The World Cup of Hockey is just about underway and some Preds players have been making a splash already. This tournament boasts a number of big-name players representing their countries and will feature some high-level hockey. Even if you have no interest in the tournament, it still means hockey is close.

Predators AHL affiliate Milwaukee Admirals are moving to a new arena. With fancy new locker rooms already unveiled, construction of the playing surface is underway. A lot of talent has come through the Admirals on their way to the Preds so it is only fitting that they get a top-notch arena to play in.

Hockey is an intense, fast-paced contact sport. While incredibly exciting to watch, the nature of the sport can sometimes result in unfortunate injuries. During the Outdoor Women’s Classic, one of the skaters shattered her vertebrae leaving her seriously injured. Today, she is on her way to recovery. Check out her story.

Las Vegas inches closer to getting their hockey team. Six potential team names were floating around previously and now we are down to three likely names – Golden Knights, Silver Knights, and Desert Knights. It was also revealed that the jerseys would be “reflective of the Las Vegas environment.” Use your imagination people.
With the World Cup going on fans are getting a taste of hockey once again; however, there is no doubt that we really want to see the gold and blue on Bridgestone Arena Ice.
