Nathan MacKinnon dangled straight through Capitals defense for an incredible goal
There haven't been many positive memories to come out of the Colorado Avalanche's season this year, but the goal that Nathan McKinnon scored last night will certainly be one of them.
In a match of worst vs. best, the Avs played host to the Capitals in Denver on Wednesday night. The 21-year-old MacKinnon got himself on the board in the third period with an absolutely gorgeous coast-to-coast goal that you just need to watch to appreciate.

Washington defenseman Dmitry Orlov (No. 9) got absolutely turnstiled and will want to burn the tape immediately, as will Matt Niskanen (No. 2) who enjoyed his front row seat a little too much on the sequence.
It's no secret that MacKinnon has a pair of filthy mitts, but anytime you can go end-to-end and split the defense by going through a defender's legs ... well, that's a welcome reminder.
Luckily for the Avs, they still lost 5-3 so the tank is still very much on despite this beauty of a highlight.
