New York Islanders Daily: Potential Lineup Changes

Updated Mar. 4, 2020 10:49 p.m. ET

After another bad performance the New York Islanders are stuck with some decisions to make. Could lineup changes be the answer?

Jack Capuano had to answer the tough questions after a New York Islanders loss, which has been a recurring nightmare for him all season long. He seemed to hint at changes to the lineup.

“I’m losing my patience a little bit with some of these guys, and you have to hold guys accountable,” the Islanders coach said after his team’s second straight loss, this a 4-2 setback to the Capitals at Barclays Center Tuesday night. “We got some decisions that we need to make.”

We’ve got some decisions to make, seems like Capuano code for Ryan Strome is going to be healthy scratched again. I was pondering during the game, when was the last time Strome scored because it’s felt like forever.

Well, it essentially has been. The last time Ryan Strome scored was on October 21st. Before Halloween!

Other candidates could be Andrew Ladd and Jason Chimera who’ve given you very little as well. It seems inevitable that the “Cappy Shuffle” a.k.a. the “Cappy Carousal” will be coming. We can only wonder what line combinations could come out of this.

He should also consider shaking up the d-men as well. Nick Leddy and Travis Hamonic are just not working together, and he’s been reluctant to make a change.

Belmont might just be alive (Eyes On Isles)

The Islanders might be coming back to Hempstead Turnpike after all, just a little more west than we’re used to. Belmont Park could still be in play.

Scary moment for Casey Cizikas (Daily News)

Cizikas got his wrist stepped on last night which could have been a lot worse than it turned out to be. He got stitched up and returned rather quickly.

Anthony Beauvillier returned to the lineup (Newsday)

The question is will he stay? Or, will he be the next casualty in the “Cappy Shuffle”.
