New York Islanders: Daniel Bryan Leads 'Yes' Chant (Video)
The New York Islanders were able to defeat the Anaheim Ducks in their home-opener. In attendance was WWE star Daniel Bryan.
Prior to the closing of the Nassau Coliseum, New York Islanders fans adopted a new celebration for after a goal is scored. After the Islanders’ goal song plays, fans stay on their feet and chant “ Yes, Yes, Yes!”
This celebration that Islanders fans have adopted is from WWE superstar Daniel Bryan. Prior to having his wrestling career cut short because of injuries, Bryan would be able to get an arena going with the popular chant.
Even though he is retired, WWE fans still use the chant almost every night on either RAW of Smackdown Live. Since his wrestling days are over, Bryan has become the general manager of Smackdown Live, which airs on Tuesday nights. Bryan is also on the E! reality show Total Bellas with his wife Brie Bella, his sister-in-law, Nikki Bella, and WWE superstar John Cena.
Despite his busy schedule, Bryan was at the home-opener for the Islanders, and he helped lead the ‘Yes’ chant three times for the Islanders. Bryan might have been a good luck charm for the Islanders, as they were able to win in overtime on a Josh Bailey goal.
After losing their first two games of the season, the home-opener was an important game for the Islanders to avoid a 0-3 start. Due to the fact that the Islanders won, Bryan will certainly be welcomed back by Islanders fans anytime to cheer the team on.
