New York Rangers Open up There Season in 1 Month From Today!
It has been a long, trying summer for New York Rangers fans, but thankfully it is finally nearing it’s end!
Rejoice New York Rangers fans! The Summer (in hockey terms) is almost over!
This surely means there will be people frolicking in the streets, jumping for joy as they anticipate the King and his crew finally taking the Madison Square Garden ice again for the franchise’s 90th season.
The only thing that would make this anniversary better is a large chalice made of silver.
Even still, while a month may still seem like a decent amount of time before NHL regular season hockey gets underway, fret not! The World Cup of Hockey’s pre-tournament matchups have already begun and the whole shebang kicks off on Saturday night as team USA takes on Team Europe at 3:30 and the Team Czech Republic vs. Team Canada game starts at 8 p.m!

Just before that, while we may or may not be able to see it, the Traverse City rookie tournament will get under way on Friday (September 16th). A couple of days after that, NHL training camps across the league will begin to get underway!
And if it makes you feel all warm and fuzzy inside, players, specifically New York Rangers players, are already meeting up and getting their skates wet for what should be an, entertaining season to say the least.
The Real Question is, Are You Ready!
There is so much to be excited about with this young team that General Manager Jeff Gorton has put together. Yes, there are still some wholes in the roster (cough…defense…cough) but there is still some time to patch those holes up. Who knows, maybe everybody on the defense just had a rough season last year and will recover. We shall see as we get closer.
What are your expectations for the team this year?
I expect this team to compete for a playoff spot, and possibly surprise a few people who wrote them off. Maybe they make a deep playoff run with everybody fully rested by a full offseason. Maybe nobody (knock on wood) gets hurt and they thrive. Anything can happen in a hockey season, so the possibilities for this team are endless.
