Oilers get Sekera for six years
Former Los Angeles Kings defenseman Andrej Sekera has inked a six-year, $33 million contract.
The 29-year-old defenseman greatly improves Edmonton's weak blue line, and will look to be a cornerstone piece in the revamped team.
Andrej Sekera joins goaltender Cam Talbot as a missing piece to the Oilers puzzle. The Oilers had the worst blue line and goaltending combo in the league this season, surrendering 3.37 goals against per game, more than any team in the league.
Sekera started the season with the Carolina Hurricanes, but was moved to Los Angeles at the trade deadline.
Sekera recorded three goals and 20 assists last season.
