Ovechkin wears bunny costume in Capitals' version of 'A Christmas Story' (VIDEO)
Captain Alex Ovechkin and several members of the Washington Capitals had no trouble getting into the holiday spirit by putting their own spin on a beloved movie.
Ovechkin, in fact, went the extra mile by wearing the giant pink bunny costume as he played the role of 9-year-old Ralphie Parker in "A Capitals Story." And if you need to connect the dots -- yes, this is the club's version of the famous 1983 comedy "A Christmas Story."
Here's a look:
Defensemen Karl Alzner (Schwartz) and John Carlson (Male Elf) join goaltender Braden Holtby (The Old Man Parker) and forwards Michael Latta (Flick) in this 1-minute, 35-second video. Ovechkin is aided by fellow forwards Tom Wilson and Andre Burakovsky as well as defenseman Nate Schmidt in the role of Ralphie.
Legendary Washington defenseman Rod Langway also played a special role as Santa Claus.
While the original movie is a holiday classic and will be played for years to come, the Capitals' version is memorable for, well ... Ovechkin's choice of attire.
