Patrick Kane Ranked 2nd Betting Favorite To Win 2017 Hart Trophy
Chicago Blackhawks Forward Patrick Kane won the Hart Trophy last season, and this year he opens as 2nd in the Bovada betting line to win consecutive Hart Trophies as the NHL MVP
The 2015-2016 NHL season was exciting one during the regular season for Chicago Blackhawks fans with there being some real magic on the Hawks 2nd line with Patrick Kane clicking with Artem Anisimov and Artemi Panarin.
Patrick Kane was on pace to win the scoring title the year before before he broke his clavicle and missed the final month of the season, but in 2016 he remained healthy for the entire campaign and he was able to secure his first Art Ross Trophy (and first American to win the trophy) as the NHL’s leading scorer.
If you look at the Bovada odds last year, you won’t find Kane even listed in the top 20, but he was the only NHL player to eclipse the 100 point plateau and easily won the Hart Trophy as the NHL’s MVP.
The top player on the list last year was the usual suspect in Sidney Crosby who ended up hoisting a Stanley Cup at the end of the year which was probably far better than a Hart Trophy last season.
The only Chicago Blackhawks player on the list last season was Jonathan Toews and unfortunately he wasn’t given a real 2nd winger until it was too late when the Hawks acquired Andrew Ladd at the trade deadline so #19 had one of his most inconsistent regular seasons of his career.
The season was all #88’s and he was consistent all season long becoming only the 4th Blackhawk to every top the 100 point barrier. The player that really sparked Kane was the Breadman who started the season as the 6th ranked betting favorite to win the Calder trophy well behind Connor McDavid and Jack Eichel.
Artemi Panarin was the best rookie after McDavid was injured racking up 30 goals and 47 assists becoming the first Blackhawks rookie to win the Calder trophy since Patrick Kane’s rookie season.
That being said all of this leads to this year’s from Brovada betting line which of course leads with Mr. Sidney Crosby. He opens at a 7/2 line with Patrick Kane 2nd at 7/1.

No other Chicago Blackhawks make the list including Jonathan Toews and Panarin, but as we witnessed last night it doesn’t matter who’s on the list but who has the best season.
Kane could repeat and it wouldn’t shock me, but don’t bet on it according to Brovada!
