Petr Mrazek: 2016 mask will honor Howe, Yzerman & Joe Louis Arena
Petr Mrazek has always had colorful goalie masks, however his latest is a collage of Red Wings history that will have every Detroit fan fired up for hockey season.
As the calendar flips to September, hockey fans are more than ready to dust themselves off and get pumped for a new season. With the Red Wings preparing for the final season of hockey at Joe Louis Arena, goaltender Petr Mrazek is revealed he will be paying tribute to JLA and the legends of yesteryear in Red Wings history.
According to the official Detroit Red Wings Twitter page, Mrazek’s mask will features Red Wings legends Steve Yzerman and Gordie Howe, along with a very sweet looking logo reading “Farewell Season, The Joe.” You can’t talk about the history of the Red Wings without mentioning Howe and Yzerman, so the choices were perfect.
Many NHL goalies have all kinds of outrageous or motivational things on their masks, but this one is spot on for Wings fans!
Back in 2013, Mrazek was sporting a mask featuring Peter Griffin, the father in the hit cartoon series “Family Guy.” Mrazek said he didn’t watch the show a lot, however what better logo can a goaltender named Petr have than one of the most popular TV characters named Peter opening his shirt and relieving a Superman logo?
