Philadelphia Flyers F Travis Konecny Has Earned Himself Roster Spot
Travis Konecny has earned himself a spot on the Philadelphia Flyers and bad things will happen if he is sent back down to his junior team.
Several of the Philadelphia Flyers‘ young stars have shined this preseason, but none quite as much as sensational forward Travis Konecny.
That didn’t change against the New York Rangers Thursday night.
With only one exhibition game remaining, Konecny currently leads the Flyers with six points this preseason. He has clearly demonstrated why Philadelphia decided to trade up for for him in the 2015 NHL Draft.

Konecny started off his stellar performance against the Rangers by sending a gorgeous saucer pass through traffic to Mark Streit. Streit shot the puck towards net for an easy Sean Couturier deflection goal, knotting the game up at 2-2.
Later, Konecny broke up a play in the neutral zone. Jakub Voracek then recovered the puck and was able to find Konecny, who got behind a preoccupied Rangers defense and beat Henrik Lundqvist for a beautiful goal.
Konecny looks at home as a top-six winger on the Flyers and the city of Philadelphia may just explode if he is sent back down to his junior club. Konecny isn’t just one of the best remaining youngsters on the roster, but he may just be one of the best players in general.
At the beginning of camp, it looked like Konecny had an uphill battle to make the opening night roster. Now it’s hard to imagine the Flyers without him when they take on the Los Angeles Kings on October 14.
