The Pittsburgh Penguins Acquire Depth Winger Ryan Reaves and a 2017 Second Round Pick from St. Louis for Oskar Sundqvist and Their 31st Overall First Round Pick.
Right before the final selection of the first round was made the Pittsburgh Penguins pulled off a deal with the St. Louis Blues to acquire depth winger Ryan Reaves along with a second round selection for Oskar Sundqvist and their 31st overall selection in the first round who later became Klim Kostin.

Now Reaves will step into the Pens lineup right away and provide some third to fourth line grit, something the Penguins could really use. He'll only bring between 10 and 15 points but for a third to fourth line guy worth only $1.1 million that's not too bad since his role is to provide energy. Last season with the Blues, Reaves put up seven goals, and six assists for 13 points along with 104 penalty minutes. His highest offensive outing since joining the NHL in 2010-11.
Oskar Sundqvist is one of those prospects that could really grow into a top six scorer or one that may remain as an AHLer. During his 2014-15 season with Skelleftea of the Swedish Elite League where he was on loan, he managed 19 points in 41 games. But in 2015-16 when he made his first appearance in North America for the Wilkes/Barre Scranton Penguins he played in 45 games notching 17 points. He also played in 18 NHL games that season scoring four points as well. Last year, Sundqvist played in 10 games with the Penguins but didn't manage a single point, and in 63 AHL games he put up a career-high 46 points as well as a plus 12 rating.
The 31st overall pick turned into Klim Kostin, a dynamic scorer from Russia. He's still a few years away but the top-ranked European skater will definitely make an impact in the North American game when he is ready.
