NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) Mike Fisher is back with the Nashville Predators.

The team signed the center to a one-year, $1 million contract. The contract will be pro-rated over the remainder of this season.

Following the team's run to the Stanley Cup Final last season, Fisher ended his 17-season NHL career when he retired in August. In late January, he and the Predators announced his return to the team. Fisher has been practicing with the Predators since deciding to return, and he will likely center the team's fourth line.

Nashville needed to sign Fisher by Monday for him to be eligible for the team's postseason roster. A roster spot for Fisher was created Sunday when forward Pontus Aberg was traded to the Edmonton Oilers.
