Report: Devils' Elias to begin season on injured reserve

New Jersey Devils veteran left wing Patrik Elias will begin the season on injured reserve, coach John Hynes told Rich Chere of NorthJersey.com.
It is not immediately known how long the 39-year-old Elias will be sidelined with the sore right knee that he has been nursing since the beginning of training camp.
"Elias is still in the same situation right now. No progress. Indefinite right now," Hynes told the website.

Elias collected just 13 goals and 21 assists in 67 games last season. A second-round selection of the 1994 draft, Elias is the franchise's all-time leader in tallies (406), assists (611) and points (1,017).
