Report: Islanders' Hickey out at least a month with lower-body injury
New York Islanders defenseman Thomas Hickey hasn't enjoyed a healthy beginning to the 2015-16 season.
After missing the start of the campaign with a fractured thumb, Hickey was placed on injured reserve with a lower-body ailment on Monday. The team announced the move, but Arthur Staple of Newsday reported that the 26-year-old Calgary native is expected to miss at least one month.

Veteran defenseman Marek Zidlicky will take Hickey's place in the lineup as the Islanders face the Calgary Flames on Monday. The contest will be the fifth missed by Hickey this season after the durable defenseman was a bystander for just one in the previous two campaigns.
Hickey collected two goals in his last three games before suffering the injury in New York's 3-2 overtime victory over the St. Louis Blues on Saturday.
Hickey, who has matched last season's goal total already, has recorded nine tallies and 41 assists in 206 career contests.
