Ryan O'Reilly scored a goal on a dump-in from center ice

Accidental goals from center ice seem to be all the rage early on in this NHL season.

On Sunday night, Ryan O'Reilly became the third player to score from the middle of the rink during the opening week of play. His tally follows Danny DeKeyser's bizarre goal that redirected off a glass partition, as well as Loui Eriksson's disastrous own goal during his Canucks debut.

O'Reilly's goal came on an innocent dump-in attempt that managed to one-hop its way past Edmonton Oilers goaltender Cam Talbot. It looked like Talbot had it lined up and would make an easy glove save but -- for whatever reason -- the puck ate him up and he couldn't field it cleanly. Instead, it bounced off of his wrist and into the back of the net. Whoops.

The goal was O'Reilly's second of the night (he finished with four points) and seemed to break open the floodgates in the game. It gave the Sabres a 3-2 lead in the second period, and Buffalo would go on to win 6-2. Most importantly, though, it allowed us to see this excellent celebration GIF.
