Senators rookie recreates famous movie scene in Instagram video

Curtis Lazar is a relative newcomer in the NHL, so maybe he is unaware that dangerous situations do not make for ideal offseason activities. The rookie seems to be keeping busy this summer by trying a variety of sports, and snaps on his Instagram show him experimenting with both golf and wakeboarding.

But Lazar's most interesting sporting adventure so far this summer resulted in a recreation of a scene from "Happy Gilmore," a 1996 sports comedy film starring Adam Sandler. Lazar tried his hand at the scene where Happy stands in front of the plate in a batting cage to toughen up for hockey season.

Compare that with an excerpt of the actual scene from "Happy Gilmore."

It looks like Lazar came away from the experience unharmed, but the Senators likely do not want the 20-year-old to do any more of his own stunts ahead of his sophomore NHL season.
