Shania Twain may be the Dallas Stars' secret weapon

Published May. 6, 2016 9:32 p.m. ET

The Dallas Stars bounced back from an embarrassing blowout loss to beat the St. Louis Blues and tie their second-round playoff series at two games apiece on Thursday night.

"I said, `It's time for us to man up,' and I thought we did," coach Lindy Ruff told the press postgame.

Though it appears they received some womanly motivation as well ... specifically, the musical stylings of pop-country superstar Shania Twain. Yep, that's "You're Still the One" blasting in the locker room prior to puck drop:

And the Shania power move clearly proved more than effective. Center Jason Spezza gave credit where credit was due after the Stars topped the Blues 3-2 in overtime, and proved that the team was "still going strong ... ":

Apparently, this is not a new thing, as the Stars' have reportedly been partial to Twain's musical charms earlier in the season as well.

But because it's the postseason, and because Stars recognize Stars, it was time to turn to the hit power ballad, and turn the volume up to 11. And it was just a matter of time before Twain caught wind of Dallas' unwavering devotion, and tweeted out her congratulations and support:

Which resulted in a lot of starstruck responses:

Just goes to show that one should never underestimate the power of a Shania Twain power ballad.
