St. Louis Blues Morning Links: Blues Nap In City That Never Sleeps
Good morning Blues fans! The Blues had another poor showing against the New York Rangers and this time, the points went New York’s way as well.
Thank goodness the St. Louis Blues are done with the New York Rangers for the year (unless there would be a meeting in the Stanley Cup Finals). The two games have been rough on the Blues physically and this last one was bad from almost every aspect.
The Blues continue struggling to score. It isn’t for lack of trying.
They are getting shots on goal, but the problem continues to be either the quality or the frequency. By frequency I mean getting second and third attempts.
Right now, there are too many shots coming from the perimeter. Even when they are not, the Blues are not getting in tight for those rebounds, put backs or dirty goals.
All of that said, credit does need to go to New York. They do lead the league in goals scored, so they were always going to be tough to shut down.
The Blues just gave them a little too much help. Not scoring makes it very difficult to win as well.
The Blues better get things figured out because they have a wounded animal coming up in the Dallas Stars. The Stars are missing several key pieces, but are just one more bad Blues performance away from reigniting their offense.
