St. Louis Blues Morning Links: Note Gets Scorched
Good morning Blues fans! It doesn’t seem quite so good following that game last night, but it’s a new day and we’re moving forward.
The St. Louis Blues fell flat on their face in their rematch with the Calgary Flames. Did they show up? Was it just a bad game?
Only the next couple games will really tell. It did put a big, fat spotlight on the team’s inability to consistently play with the kind of effort the St. Louis fans deserve when attending a game at whatever the arena is called this second.
The Blues failed in several aspects. Their effort left plenty to be desired.
You could chalk that up to the recent Canadian trip, which tends to drain teams. That just shouldn’t be an excuse this early in the season.
Additionally, they failed to take advantage of playing a team playing a back-to-back scenario and also three games in four days. Not only did the Blues lose, but they couldn’t even muster double digit shots until well over halfway through the contest.

Hopefully, this is just a one game deal. These things do happen through any season and perhaps the Blues are getting it out of their system now.
What is still worrying is the fact these things are happening with regularity at home. The Blues did not perform as well in St. Louis as they did last season and through three home games, the play has gotten progressively worse this year.
We had chalked the New York game up to injuries, but maybe that’s just an excuse. Maybe this is what the Blues are at home.
