There is an incredible amount of hype following Connor McDavid, the Edmonton Oiler's number one overall pick this year.
It seems with each growing day, the hype grows larger and larger.
But this quote from the Tampa Bay Lightning's Steven Stamkos may be the biggest praise for McDavid yet.
“This guy is a special kid,” Stamkos said to ESPN.com. “I think he’s better than me right now. I wouldn’t have a second thought on saying that.”
McDavid is already better than Stamkos?
Stamkos already has two Rocket Richard trophies, has been named to two second all-NHL teams, appeared in three all star appearances and led the Lightning to the Stanley Cup just this year.
McDavid is already entering his first NHL season, where he is the consensus favored Calder trophy winner as the league's top rookie. But, how much longer do we have to wait until he starts to collect some other hardware?
