The Chicago Blackhawks' defensemen have been taking a beating this season.

After seeing two-time Norris Trophy recipient and reigning Conn Smythe winner Duncan Keith (knee) and veteran Michal Rozsival (ankle) return to the lineup, the Blackhawks' blue line nearly lost another defenseman to injury on Sunday.

Brent Seabrook took a puck above his right eye off the stick of Calgary Flames forward Michael Frolik and was forced to leave the contest in the second period. The 30-year-old British Columbia native didn't stay out for long, as he returned in the third sporting a more rugged look - thanks to a few stitches.

Seabrook didn't let the injury affect his game, as he blocked four shots while logging 22 minutes and 25 seconds of ice time. He also contributed offensively with his ninth assist in Chicago's 4-1 triumph over Calgary.
