Tampa Bay Lightning F Cedric Paquette Ready To Make Return
Tampa Bay Lightning forward Cedric Paquette is ready to make his return to the ice as the Lightning take on their Atlantic Division foes, the Detroit Red Wings.
The Tampa Bay Lightning hasn’t received much good news as of late when it comes to injuries. More than a few of the team’s top guys have been relegated to the sidelines with any number of injuries. However, there is a little light of hope coming into tonight’s encounter with the Detroit Red Wings.
It seems the Lightning will be taking the ice tonight with the addition of one of those previously injured players. According to Tampa Bay Lightning Beat Writer Bryan Burns, Lightning Head Coach Jon Cooper stated that Lightning forward Cedric Paquette would be good to go for tonight’s encounter.
This is definitely good news for the ailing Lightning. There is absolutely no love lost between the Tampa Bay Lightning and the Detroit Red Wings. In other words, tonight’s game is going to be very physical, gritty, and high octane. Having a scrappy player like Cedric Paquette in the lineup will be a welcome addition to the party.

The 23-year-old Quebec native hasn’t exactly been the highest scoring center on the team this season, but that doesn’t mean Paquette hasn’t made an impact when the time was right.
Cedric Paquette has played in 30 games with the Tampa Bay Lightning so far this season. In that amount of time, the scrappy, young forward has brought home three goals and four assists for a total of seven points.
In addition to his normal skill set as a forward, Paquette also has a separate set of skills that prove to be a rather large asset to him on the ice. Cedric Paquette has been known to be a pest to the Lightning’s opponents. In other words, he gets in on the play and does everything within his power to break it up.
Also, when someone takes a run at one of his teammates, he’s usually the first to step up and take a stand. While we are not usually one to promote taking penalties and ending up with a one-way ticket to the sin bin, there are times when the moment is right and something simply needs to be done.
Unfortunately, there are still quite a few Lightning players relegated to the sidelines. On the bright side, getting Cedric Paquette back in the lineup is the first step towards rebuilding the chemistry the team started off the season with and getting back to what is most important, scoring goals and winning games.
Tonight’s action between the Tampa Bay Lightning and the Detroit Red Wings is set to kick off at 7:30 p.m. from the Amalie Arena, right here in the heart of the Bolts Nation. If you can’t make it to the game, you can catch all the action on Fox Sports Sun or on the go with the Fox Sports Go app.
