Tampa Bay Lightning Injury Update: Tyler Johnson Likely Out Tonight Against Jets
Tampa Bay Lightning forward Tyler Johnson seems set to miss yet another game with his undisclosed injury suffered on Tuesday against the Los Angeles Kings.
Despite working together to find a way to emerge victoriously in the last two out of three games (the third lost in overtime) the Tampa Bay Lightning are still dealing with an insane amount of injuries to some of their key players. At some point, the question will become “who’s healthy” instead of “who’s injured.”
Unfortunately, as the Tampa Bay Lightning prepares to take on the Winnipeg Jets, it seems as if the team will once again be taking the ice without the aid of one of their star forwards. As most Lightning fans know by now, Lightning forward Tyler Johnson was forced to miss last night’s game against the Minnesota Wild due to an undisclosed injury.
Well, judging by the official preview for tonight’s game, it seems as if Johnson will need a little more time to heal before he is able to return to the ice. That being said, it’s a pretty safe bet he will not be ready to go when the Lightning hit the ice at the MTS Centre later tonight.

Tonight’s encounter will be the first of two meetings between these two teams this season.
Tyler Johnson didn’t start off the season the way one may have hoped. In the first month of play, Johnson only brought home two goals and two assists for a total of four points. Thankfully, as time progressed, Johnson really started to find his groove.
Since then, Tyler Johnson has gone on to play in a total of 54 games with the Lightning this season. In that amount of time, Johnson has brought home 16 goals and 17 assists for a total of 33 points. These numbers are good enough to put him in a three-way tie for second place on the team in goals and fourth in overall points.
The injuries the Lightning has been forced to deal with this season have wreaked havoc on the team’s chemistry. As much as Lightning fans would like to have all the injured players back in the lineup, the last thing the team wants to do is rush someone’s return and have them injure themselves further.
Only time will tell how long it will be until Tyler Johnson will be ready to retake his place in the Lightning lineup. Until then, the Lightning has a job to do. Judging by the way the team has played over the last three games, there may be hope left for this ailing team on the horizon.
