Third line producing against Blackhawks

Published May. 21, 2015 3:14 p.m. ET

When you have to play against one of the best teams in the league like the Chicago Blackhawks, you better make sure everyone is at the top of their game.

The Blackhawks have four fierce defensemen capable of shutting down some of the top offensive players in the game. But they generally won't focus too much on the third line.

Well, maybe they should start to, because Andrew Cogliano, Nate Thompson and Kyle Palmieri are the ones that are starting to come up big for the Ducks.

Palmieri scored a goal in the first game. Cogliano has two points in two games. And Thompson has three points in the series.

While the Blackhawks have done a decent job at shutting down Corey Perry, who has just (emphasis on just) one goal during the series, if they forget about that third line, it could prove to be pretty costly.
