Trotz: 'Good karma' after Capitals score following fight
Coach Barry Trotz believes that karma played a role in helping his red-hot Washington Capitals seize their eighth straight victory on Monday.
By all accounts, Buffalo Sabres forward Nicolas Deslauriers emerged victorious in his second-period bout with Washington center Michael Latta. After Deslauriers opted to celebrate his accomplishment by flailing his arms in jubilation, Trotz's frown quickly turned upside down as Jay Beagle scored nearly two minutes later to give the Capitals a 2-0 advantage.
Via the Washington Post:
"A little karma when (Deslauriers) wants to play it up a little bit like that. That's usually good karma; it actually helped us out on the bench. We scored right away. I thought it was just karma."
While the Capitals held the fort to preserve the 2-0 win, the team revealed that Latta suffered an arm injury in the altercation with Deslauriers.

Latta, who is a restricted free agent at the end of the season, has recorded career highs in goals (three) and points (six) this season. The 24-year-old Ontario native has collected four goals and 12 assists in 94 career contestrs - all with Washington.
