Washington Capitals Re-Sign T.J. Oshie to Massive Contract
The Washington Capitals Have Re-Signed Forward T.J. Oshie to a Massive New Contract on Friday That May be too Much For His Production.
The Washington Capitals have re-signed T.J. Oshie to a ludicrous amount of money, $46 million dollars, eight-year extension. The deal works out to roughly $5,750,000 per season, now for a player like Oshie, that's a bit much since he's only broken the 30 goal mark once and it was last season on a high powered offensive team.

The former first-round pick of the St. Louis Blues has only reached 60 points once and that was in 2013-14 for St. Louis when he put up 21 goals, and 39 assists. He's seen seasons go up and down in his career, first with a 39 point campaign 2008-09 followed by a 48 point season 2009-10, but seen regression in 2010-11 when he fell to 33 points. His lowest total came in 2012-13 when he only scored 20 points in a 30 game season.
So between $3.5-$,4.2 would have been the best for a player like Oshie cause he's quite inconsistent, one season he'll be doing great the next he's in a slump. And so far in 591 career NHL games, Oshie has managed 416 points, 309 penalty minutes and a career plus 115 which is probably his best statistic.
He's done quite well in for Team U.S.A in the World Cup, Olympics, and World Championships, he just needs to become more consistent every season.
