WATCH: Stamkos attacks target-laden drones
Drones are everywhere these days -- delivering packages, crashing into stadiums, landing illegally on the White House lawn -- and it seems one NHL player has had enough. Steven Stamkos took down some drones in a new trick shot video released by SportChek, a Canadian sporting goods store.
The drones were equipped with cameras which recorded exactly what it feels like to be on the receiving end of a Stamkos shot. The NHLer did some impressive damage when he struck down a few of the drones; parts of the flying machines exploded mid-air before falling to the ice.
The sniper is back to shooting at goalies this week, however, as Tampa Bay training camp kicked off at Amalie Arena Thursday. Stamkos is capturing plenty of headlines early since he has yet to sign a contract extension. Should Stamkos and the Lightning fail to reach an agreement by the end of the year, the captain will become a free agent next summer.
