Simmonds, who made his first All-Star appearance, took home the MVP award after scoring the game winning goal. He had three goals in two games, which helped him grab the award.

Simmonds is just the second Flyer to receive the MVP, as Reggie Leach won it in 1980. Returning to the city where he started his career, Simmonds impressed. On top of winning the award, he took home a brand new 2017 Honda truck.

Before the break, Simmonds was on fire. He had a goal in each of his last three games, including a two-point effort against the Islanders. Clearly, Simmonds is clicking on all cylinders at the moment, and the Flyers and their fans hope he can continue to do so in the second-half of the season.
