Wennberg out two weeks with foot injury
Columbus Blue Jackets general manager Jarmo Kekalainen announced that Alexander Wennberg will be out for about two weeks with a foot injury.
Wennberg has been placed on Injured Reserve.
This is Wennberg's second significant injury this season. In the season opener against the New York Rangers, Wennberg suffered a concussion, missing five games.
Wennberg, 21, was drafted by Columbus with the 14th overall pick in the 2013 NHL draft. He has a single goal in 10 games so far this season.
In 75 career games with the Blue Jackets, Wennberg has five goals and 16 assists.
The Blue Jackets haven't called up anyone yet from the Lake Erie Monsters, Columbus' AHL affiliate. Rene Bourque, who has been a healthy scratch for the last five games, could be inserted into the lineup in place of Wennberg.
The Blue Jackets face off against the Pittsburgh Penguins this Friday. Coverage begins at 6:30 p.m. ET on FOX Sports Ohio.
