Wild's Dubnyk to sit out final two contests of road trip
Minnesota Wild goaltender Devan Dubnyk will not travel with the team when it plays the final two contests of its three-game road trip, coach Mike Yeo told reporters on Thursday.
Dubnyk was an active participant in Thursday's practice, but admitted to reporters that he didn't feel 100 percent as he works his way back from a mild groin strain.
With back-to-back tilts on tap versus his former club in the Arizona Coyotes (Friday) and San Jose Sharks (Saturday), Dubnyk and Yeo weren't interested in forcing the issue.
Darcy Kuemper is expected to continue to start in place of Dubnyk, who suffered the injury during Saturday's game against the Central Division-rival Colorado Avalanche.
While his team is away, Dubnyk will enjoy some bonding time with his newborn son.
Yeo says Dubnyk will stay behind; he was on the ice today, but not ready to risk it. Kuemper will start tomorrow. #mnwild
