Center Erik Haula and the Minnesota Wild beat an arbitrator's decision and agreed to terms on a two-year contract on Sunday.
Financial terms were not disclosed, but the Minneapolis Star Tribune reported that the deal is worth $2 million - with $1.05 million coming in the second year.
Haula was asking for $1.2 million per year at the arbitration hearing on Friday while Minnesota was seeking $775,000, according to the newspaper. The arbitrator's decision was expected to be rendered on Sunday, but the 24-year-old Finn and the Wild beat him to it.

A restricted free agent, Haula collected seven goals and as many assists in 72 games last season.
