Wild's Kuemper, Dubnyk impressed by high school girl's 112-save performance
Count Minnesota Wild goaltenders Darcy Kuemper and Devan Dubnyk as two of the many who were impressed by the 112-save performance recorded by Apple Valley (Minn.) High School goaltender Taylor DeForrest.
DeForrest stopped 112 of 115 shots in her team's 3-2 setback in six overtimes to East Ridge on Wednesday. DeForrest's save total nearly doubled the state's previous record, that of Cassie Alexander (59 saves) in 2013.

Kuemper was quick to offer his congratulations to the junior goaltender. Via MinnesotaWild.com:
"Hey Taylor. Heard about your game last night. One hundred twelve saves is pretty incredible. Good job out there. Keep making the State of Hockey looking great."
By comparison, Dubnyk has faced 109 shots for the Wild - in his last four games combined.

With Minnesota (23-19-9) mired in a 1-8-1 stretch in its last 10 contests, perhaps DeForrest needs to keep her phone handy should the Wild come calling.
