Winnipeg's Dustin Byfuglien channels Marshawn Lynch
By Anna Fogel
Dustin Byfuglien made Marshawn Lynch proud Tuesday.
The Winnipeg Jets were once again the victims of a fast and furious rally out of the Anaheim Ducks on Monday night, eventually falling in overtime 5-4. The win that put the Ducks up 3-0 in the first-round series and pushes the Jets to the brink of elimination didn’t exactly put Byfuglien in the most talkative of moods the following day, but it did put him in a Lynch-esque mood.
In an interview with members of the media, the Jets defenseman responded to every question Tuesday morning with the same answer: ”As long as we stick together as a team, we’ll be alright.”
It’s no “I’m just here so I won’t get fined,” but we have a feeling Lynch is a fan of Byfuglien’s response.
The 30-year-old blueliner has had a slow start to the series, failing to record a point in the postseason. He also laid a heck of a cheap shot on Corey Perry following the Ducks star’s goal, resulting in a two-minute minor.
But, hey, as long as they stick together as a team, the Jets will be just fine.
