Dahlmeier leads German 1-2 finish at World Cup 10K pursuit

HOCHFILZEN, Austria (AP) Laura Dahlmeier led a German 1-2 finish at a women's biathlon World Cup pursuit on Saturday.

The world championship silver medalist took the lead after the third round of shooting and held on to it despite missing a target in her final shooting.

Dahlmeier finished the 10-kilometer competition in 28 minutes, 23.3 seconds for her third career win.

Maren Hammerschmidt missed twice and came 13.3 behind in second, while overall World Cup leader Gabriela Soukalova of Czech Republic also missed one target in the last shooting and trailed by 18.5 in third.

Franziska Hildebrand, who led a German sweep of the podium in the 7.5K sprint on Friday, finished 25.0 off the lead in fourth.

A men's 12.5K pursuit is scheduled later Saturday.
