The life of former Olympic figure skater Debi Thomas has hit bottom.

Thomas, a physician and the first African-American to medal at a Winter Olympics, revealed she is broke and living in squalor in a trailer as part of Iyanla Vanzant's "Fix My Life" series on the Oprah Winfrey Network.

Despite winning bronze at the 1988 Calgary Games, graduating from Stanford and becoming a physician, Thomas, now 48, has since gone through two divorces and "crippling life challenges," resulting in her losing her medical practice and custody of her 13-year-old son. She currently lives with her fiance in a bed bug-infested mobile home in the Appalachian Mountains.

A Gofundme attempt to raise $10,000 in "emergency funds" was launched months ago. It garnered about a quarter of the desired goal.
