For America's top gymnasts, the road to the London Olympics will pass through San Jose.
USA Gymnastics on Monday awarded the next Olympic trials to HP Pavilion, the home of the San Jose Sharks. The trials will be held in 2012 from June 28 to July 1.
The city has hosted big gymnastics meets, including the 2007 national championships and the 2008 Pacific Rim championships.
In recent years, the U.S. team has awarded a few men's spots at the trials. The women have waited to announce their team until training camp, usually a few weeks after the trials.
