2015 NFL mock drafts: Who will the Packers select?

Published Apr. 29, 2015 9:00 p.m. ET

The long wait for the NFL Draft is almost over. All the talk, conjecture, speculation and rumors will soon be a thing of the past.

But it's not here yet. So why not add a little fuel to the fire with a detailed roundup of mock drafts from around the web and who they have the Packers taking.

Some of these mocks only do one round, a couple have two rounds and a few go for the whole enchilada -- seven rounds. I tried to keep this to mocks just done in the past couple of days -- and there will surely be more coming out after we've posted this -- but I think this is a pretty hefty list.

Of course, Green Bay could well trade out of the first round, but this still makes for some interesting talk.

DraftTek (7 rounds): 1. Eli Harold, OLB, Virginia; 2. Paul Dawson, ILB, TCU; 3. Doran Grant, CB, Ohio State; 4. Josh Harper, WR, Fresno State; 5. Jeff Heuerman, TE, Ohio State; 6a. Tavaris Barnes, DE, Clemson; 6b. J.B. Tavai, ILB, USC; 6c. Tyrus Thompson, OT, Oklahoma; 7. Zach Wagenmann, OLB, Montana.

Walter Cherepinsky of WalterFootball.com (7 rounds): 1. Eric Kendricks, ILB, UCLA; 2. Duke Johnson, RB, Miami; 3. Jacoby Glenn, CB, Central Florida; 4. Leterrius Walton, DE/DT, Central Michigan; 5. Geneo Grissom, DE/OLB, Oklanhoma; 6a. Bryce Hager, ILB, Baylor; 6b. Rannell Hall, WR, Central Florida; 6c. Jarvis Harrison, G, Texas A&M; 7. Zach Zenner, FB, South Dakota State.

Charlie Campbell, WalterFootball.com (7 rounds): 1. Eddie Goldman, DT, Florida State; 2. Eric Rowe, CB, Utah; 3. Nick O'Leary, TE, Florida State; 4. Sean Hickey, OT, Syracuse; 5. Lynden Trail, DE/DT, Norfolk State; 6a. Tony Washington, OLB, Oregon; 6b. Chris Hackett,S, TCU; 6c. Terrence McGee, RB, LSU; 7. Darius Kilgo, DT, Maryland.

Eddie Brown, UT-San Diego (7 rounds): 1. Eric Kendricks, ILB, UCLA; 2. Clive Walford, TE, Miami; 3. Steven Nelson, CB, Oregon State; 4. Rakeem Nunez-Roches, DT, Southern Mississippi; 5. Zack Zenner, FB, South Dakota State; 6a. Antwan Goodley, WR, Baylor; 6b. Damian Swann, CB, Georgia; 6c. Max Valles, OLB, Virginia; 7. Darryl Baldwin, OT, Ohio State.

The National Football Post's Greg Gabriel: Ron Darby, CB, Florida State.

USAToday's Nate Davis: Eric Kendricks, ILB, UCLA. "Kendricks' ability to defend the pass makes him more than a two-down player and one (Ted) Thompson can't expect to see again late in Round 2."

CBSSports.com's Pete Prisco: Eric Rowe, CB, Utah. "They lost two corners in free agency and this is a kid scouts love as a corner -- although I think he could be a really good safety. He has good size at 6-foot-1."

SI.com's Peter King: Denzel Perryman, ILB, Miami. "The Pack really needs a corner, and Jalen Collins or Byron Jones, if still on the board here, would be logical picks. But there's been a buzz about Perryman among the Green Bay braintrust since the combine. He's too small, at 5-10 1/2, to go much higher than this, and maybe to go in the first round at all. But when I've brought his name up over the past couple of weeks to scouts and GMs, invariably the answer comes back that they love Perryman as an instinctive playmaker all over the field, not just between the tackles."

SI.com's Greg Bedard's anti-mock, i.e., who teams should pick: Carl Davis, DT, Iowa. "This pick is purely because I'm sick of watching the smallish Packers get pushed around on the defensive interior, which exposes their inside linebackers even more. Davis is nearly 6-5 and 320 pounds, with huge hands and long arms. He dominated at the Senior Bowl after a lackluster career at Iowa. Turn defensive line coach Mike Trgovac loose on him and see what happens."

Dane Brugler, NFLDraftScout.co, (2 rounds): 1. Malcom Brown, DT, Texas. "Opinions are all over the map on Brown's draft projection, but this might be his floor, which would be an absolute steal for Green Bay."; 2. P.J. Williams, CB, Florida State.

Rob Rang, The Sports Xchange (2 rounds): 1. Jordan Phillips, DT, Oklahoma. "At 6-5, 329 pounds, Phillips has the length and strength to provide the Packers with depth all over the defensive line."; 2. Stephone Anthony, ILB, Clemson.

Mark Eckel, NJ.com: Eddie Goldman, DL, Florida State. "Packers always take the best player on the board. In this case it's Goldman, a big run-stopper from FSU."

TheTampa Tribune's Ira Kaufman: Eric Kendricks, ILB, UCLA.

Jay Skurski, Buffalo News: None. Has Green Bay trading its pick to Houston for second- and third-round selections.

Karen Guregian, Boston Herald: Jalen Collins, CB, LSU.

The News Journal's Martin Frank: Eric Kendricks, ILB, UCLA.

The Kansas City Star's Terez A. Paylor: Maxx Williams, TE, Minnesota.

MassLive.com's Nick O'Malley: Eric Kendricks, ILB, UCLA.

Dave Birkett, Detroit Free-Press: Kevin Johnson, CB, Wake Forest.

Matthew Fairburn, Syracuse.com: Stephone Anthony, LB, Clemson.

The Schenectady Daily Gazette's Mark McGuire: Eric Kendricks, ILB, UCLA.

Matt Falk and Nik Edlund of DraftSeason.com: Eric Kendricks, LB, UCLA. "The UCLA linebacker has a high football IQ and could become one of the leaders on the Packers defense from day one."

NFL.com's Charles Davis: Eric Kendricks, ILB, UCLA. "Packers will also strongly consider the CB position, as the bulk of their needs are on defense. Kendricks, my No. 2 ILB, can run, cover, and hit. He also puts Clay Matthews back at OLB full time."

NFL.com's Charley Casserly: Byron Jones, CB, UConn.

NFL.com's Lance Zierlein and Chad Reuter (7 rounds): 1. Jalen Collins, CB, LSU; 2. Stephone Anthony, ILB, Clemson; 3. Marcus Hardison, DT, Arizona State; 4. Wes Saxton, TE, South Alabama; 5. Laurence Gibson, OT, Virginia Tech; 6a. Jeremiah Poutasi, G, Utah; 6b. Damian Swann, CB, Georgia; 6c. Jake Ryan, LB, Michigan; 7. B.J. Dubose, DT, Louisville.

Jonathan Mack, NFL Draft Blitz (7 rounds): 1. Byron Jones, CB, UConn; 2. Benardrick McKinney, ILB, Mississippi State; 3. MyCole Pruitt, TE, Southern Illinois; 4. Darius Philion, DT, Arkansas; 5. Austin Shepherd, OT, Alabama; 6a. Zach Wagenmann, DE, Montana; 6b. Kyle Loomis, P, Portland State; 6c. Jamarcus Nelson, WR, UAB; 7. Leon Orr, DL, Florida.

Brian Perez, Draft Breakdown: Eric Kendricks, ILB, UCLA. "This pick screams 'match' to me. Kendricks is a fiery, athletic and instinctual linebacker. Put him on the same defense as Clay Matthews . . . wow. It would be one of the more dangerous linebacker units in all of football."

Jeff Feyerer, Ourlads': Kevin Johnson, CB, Wake Forest.

Rotoworld's Josh Norris: Eric Rowe, CB, Utah.

MyNFLDraft.com (2 rounds): 1. Eli Harold, DE/OLB, Virginia; 2. Mario Edwards, DL, Florida State.

Barry Wilner, The Associated Press: Bernardrick McKinney, ILB, Mississippi State.

Robert Davis, Football's Future: Eddie Goldman, DL, Florida State. "ILB is definitely an option here, but there is some depth at the position in the draft. Goldman gives the team a space eater up front and gives them some depth they've been lacking on the defensive line."

Kevin Roberts, Breaking Football: Eric Kendricks, ILB, UCLA. "Kendricks is a fringe first-round talent, but at 30 the Packers can go ahead and reach. They need him badly."
