4 weightlifters test positive at World championships
BUDAPEST, Hungary (AP) The international weightlifting federation has suspended four athletes who failed doping tests at the world championships in Houston last month.
The IWF said Moldova's Ghenadie Dudoglo, Silviya Angelova of Azerbaijan, Umurbek Bazarbayev of Turkmenistan and Saudi Arabia's Mansour Abdulrahim M Al Saleem tested positive for different banned substances, including steroids.
None of the four lifters won medals at the world championships, which were held from Nov. 20-28. They can now request testing of their backup ''B''' samples.
Angelova won a silver medal at the European championships in 2013, while Bazarbayev competed at the 2012 London OIympics.
The IWF said it has yet to complete the testing for the samples collected during the championships.
