Akeem Ayers hopes the LA Rams draft Jared Goff with No. 1 pick in NFL Draft

The LA Rams have been on the clock since making a huge splash in trading up from No. 15 all the way to No. 1 in the NFL Draft. While it seems almost certain the Rams will use the first pick to select either Jared Goff or Carson Wentz, until the team reveals its 'anointed one' at the draft next Thursday it seems everyone has made it known whether they're 'Team Goff' or 'Team Wentz.'

On Friday, TMZ Sports caught up with LA Rams linebacker Akeem Ayers and asked who he'd like to see the team select:

As a former UCLA linebacker, it seems Ayers is keeping it in the Pac-12 family by siding with Goff. Ayers goes on to say he saw the Cal quarterback play against his alma mater last season, a game in which UCLA upset the #20 Cal Bears 40-24 and Goff was sacked five times. In his college career, Goff was 0-3 against the Bruins.

Not exactly the stellar performance you'd like to see from your prospective future quarterback, although Goff did throw three touchdowns with no interceptions in the 2015 game.

So maybe Ayers likes Goff's toughness in the face of adversity or he just wants someone he can relate to - Ayers was 0-3 against Cal during his UCLA career.
