Alexander Ovechkin asked out by little girl during skate with special needs kids

Alexander Ovechkin hosted a private skate for 60 children with developmental disabilities at the Kettler Capitals Iceplex in Arlington, Va., on Thursday.

Via the Washington Capitals (by way of Russian Machine Never Breaks):

The Washington Capitals superstar truly appeared to be enjoying himself as he skated with the kids, but one interaction with an adorable little girl in particular clearly delighted Ovi.

The little lady took a break from her skating to approach Ovechkin . . . to ask him out on the date (again via Russian Machine Never Breaks).

Adorable.

There is no doubt that Ovechkin had as much fun as the kids did on the ice. Good for him, for doing it in the first place and brightening the day of some truly special kids and for engaging so openly with them. Kudos.

Video from the private skate.

Again, awesome.
