Allen healthy and ready to start as Blues set Opening Day roster
ST. LOUIS -- St. Louis Blues goaltender Jake Allen is back at full health and ready to start Wednesday's season opener in Chicago, putting the finishing touches on a roster that was finalized Tuesday.
Allen went down with an apparent injury in the first period of Saturday's preseason game against the Chicago Blackhawks after Blues defenseman Carl Gunnarsson fell on him. Allen, after being tended to by trainer Ray Barile, remained in the game for the period but did not play after the intermission.
Needing someone to help Carter Hutton mind the net at Monday's practice, the Blues recalled Jordan Binnington the next day. But Allen was back on the ice Tuesday, and the team announced he was good to go.
With Allen back, Binnington was sent back down to the Blues' AHL affiliate, the Chicago Wolves.

As for the rest of the roster, forwards Ty Rattie and Magnus Paajarvi will break camp with the Blues. So will Nail Yakupov, the newly acquired forward from the Edmonton Oilers.
