Angels roll the dice on Tim Lincecum; righty to bolster ailing rotation
It's been the worst kept secret in baseball the past few days but now it's official: Tim Lincecum has signed with the Angels, the team announced on Friday.
The two-time Cy Young winning pitcher joins an Angels' pitching staff that has been decimated by injuries in 2016. Already without pitchers CJ Wilson and Tyler Skaggs to start the year, the Angels were dealt further blows with the loss of their top two pitchers to start the year Garrett Richards and Andrew Heaney, both of which could be out long term with elbow damage.

Lincecum joins the Halos with his fair share of injury concerns as well. The 31-year-old righty had his 2015 season cut short due to a hip injury and subsequent surgery. But after showcasing to major league scouts in Arizona last month and passing a phyical with the team, the three-time World Series champion became the best option for the Angels' depleted staff.
The Angels have now added two starting pitchers in recent weeks. Jhoulys Chacin was acquired from the Braves on May 11 and won his first start with the Angels going seven innings against the Mariners three days after joining the team.
