Anze Kopitar named 14th team captain LA Kings' history

On Thursday, the Los Angeles Kings announced that Anze Kopitar will assume the role of team captain.

Taking the reigns from Dustin Brown, Kopitar will be the 14th player to wear the 'C' in Kings history.

Entering his 11th season with the Kings, Kopitar led the club in scoring (74 points in 2015-16) for the ninth straight season.

Kopitar has served as assistant captain since 2008.
