Badgers to face Western Michigan in Cotton Bowl
The Wisconsin Badgers will take on the Western Michigan Broncos of the Mid-American Conference in the Goodyear Cotton Bowl Classic on Jan. 2.
It's the program's 15th straight bowl bid and first Cotton Bowl appearance. The game takes place Monday, Jan. 2 at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.
The Big 10 West champions are ranked eighth overall, finishing with a 10-3 overall record and a 7-2 mark in the conference. The No. 12 undefeated Broncos are coming off a MAC championship.
"I'm excited for our players to have the opportunity to be a part of a game with the long and storied history like the Cotton Bowl has," head coach Paul Chryst said in a release. "This game has featured a number of great programs and great players throughout the years and we are proud to now have a chance to be a part of that history.
"I appreciate what our players have done to earn the right to play in this game. Western Michigan has had a tremendous year and will present a terrific challenge for us. I look forward to starting our prep and having one more opportunity with this great group of players."
The Broncos and Badgers have met four times with Wisconsin taking three matchups.
