Baylor offensive lineman Rami Hammad accused of stalking

WACO, Texas (AP) -- Baylor University offensive lineman Rami Hammad has been accused of stalking an ex-girlfriend.

Hammad is free on bond after being arrested Monday on a felony stalking charge. Baylor athletics spokesman Nick Joos says the 21-year-old junior from Irving was suspended from all team activities.

The Waco Tribune-Herald (http://bit.ly/2asMnm7 ) reports that an arrest affidavit said Hammad waited for an ex-girlfriend before she entered class on July 7. After class, the ex-girlfriend saw Hammad waiting and told her professor she was afraid to leave alone.

Hammad then allegedly followed the woman and professor to the professor's office. They tried unsuccessfully to call the Baylor athletic department, then called police.

The affidavit says Hammad continued to try to contact the woman after officers told him to stay away from her.

The woman has since left the state.
