Bill Parcells says he talked to Browns

Did the Browns try to woo Bill Parcells out of retirement and to Berea?

Bleacher Report's Mike Freeman writes that several sources told him Browns' owner Jimmy Haslam wanted the Hall of Famer to run the team, however, Parcells refuted that.

Parcells said his conversation with the Browns was "only about how I believe organizations succeed and others fail" and did not include a job offer.

Freeman says Parcells and Haslam met "extensively" in South Florida and that Haslam believed Parcells could bring credibility to the team.

There's no arguing Parcells' resume in turning around downtrodden franchises. He took both the Giants and Patriots to the Super Bowl, then the Jets to the AFC Championship Game after they suffered through years of struggles.

Haslam shook up the Browns' front office Tuesday announcing the departures of general manager Mike Lombardi and CEO Joe Banner, along with the promotion of Ray Farmer from assistant general manager.
