Billikens snap five-game skid with 65-62 upset of George Washington
ST. LOUIS -- Mike Crawford scored 20 points, including a 3-pointer to give Saint Louis the lead in the final minute, and the Billikens snapped a five-game losing streak by upsetting George Washington 65-62 on Wednesday night.
The Billikens (6-8, 1-1 Atlantic 10) trailed by seven points with under two minutes remaining when Crawford started a game-ending 9-0 run with a basket. Davell Roby made a pair of free throws, Crawford hit a 3-pointer for a 63-62 lead with 24 seconds left before he added two free throws. A 3-point attempt by the Colonials' Patricio Garino missed with three seconds remaining. The Colonials missed five shots and two free throws during the Billikens' closing surge.
Kevin Larsen scored 14 points for George Washington (12-3, 1-1), which led by as many as 13 points in the second half.
The Billikens kept their home record against George Washington perfect at 6-0.
