Blake Griffin, Eric Gordon and Derrick Rose once squared off in AAU game

Published May. 29, 2015 11:58 p.m. ET

Los Angeles Clippers power forward Blake Griffin, New Orleans Pelicans shooting guard Eric Gordon and Chicago Bulls point guard Derrick Rose go back, way back.

Unlike previous generations, modern-day NBA players grew up playing against one another. It's a big reason why the NBA is considered a softer place than it was back when Magic, Larry and Michael ruled the court.

Oh to be a fly on the wall in the gym back in 2006 when Griffin, Gordon and Rose were on the floor together for an AAU game.

Gordon and Rose played for "Mean Streets" and Griffin played for "Athletes First." Gordon, a former teammate of Griffin's with the Clippers, posted the video to his Facebook page on Thursday.

The three future NBA stars stand out above the rest in the six-minute long video, which should come as no surprise.

It goes to show you just how small the NBA community has gotten over the years.
