Blue Jackets' Sergei Bobrovsky expected to miss three weeks with groin injury
The Columbus Blue Jackets have placed goaltender Sergei Bobrovsky on Injured Reserve, club General Manager Jarmo Kekalainen announced Thursday. He is expected to miss three weeks due to a groin strain suffered during the third period of Tuesday night's game vs. the Los Angeles Kings.
Bobrovsky, 27, is 11-12-1 with a 2.52 goals-against average, .916 save percentage and one shutout in 25 games this season. In 15 games since November 1, he has gone 9-4-1 with a 1.67 goals-against average, .945 save percentage and one shutout, stopping 429-of-454 shots faced and allowing two goals or fewer in 13 games.
The Novokuznetsk, Russia native has compiled a 136-83-25 record with a 2.51 goals-against average, .918 save percentage and 12 shutouts in 255 career NHL games with the Blue Jackets and Philadelphia Flyers. Acquired from Philadelphia via trade on June 22, 2012, he has gone 94-60-15 with a 2.41 goals-against average, .922 save percentage and 12 shutouts in 172 appearances with the club and won the Vezina Trophy as the NHL's top goaltender following the 2012-13 campaign.
