Blue Jays OF Revere has major water dump fail

Updated Mar. 4, 2020 8:48 p.m. ET

After Josh Donaldson hit a game-winning home run against the Rays on Sunday, it was time for the Blue Jays to celebrate.

Everyone knows the drill when this happens: Teammates run to home plate to greet the guy as he rounds the bases. Then everyone grabs him, hits him and pounds his head while the entire team jumps up and down. Then players dump some kind of liquid on top of the hero of the day.

There was only one problem when this routine happened with the Blue Jays on Sunday. Outfielder Ben Revere, who was going to do the honors of dumping a large bucket of water on Donaldson had a wonderful mishap.

After the game, Revere explained what happened.

As you can see in the picture below, Revere did redeem himself and was able to douse Donaldson on his second attempt.

However, it was still a rough day all around for Revere.
